Personal Reflections

I bought a book entitled “Thoughts In Solitude” by Felix Berto O. Magallanes last Jan. 2, 2010 at the Pink Sisters in Tagaytay. It was my brother-in-law’s birthday. The book, to my surprise, was not a book with great pictures and inspirational quotes, as I expected; but, rather, contained topics for reflection (on even numbered pages) and something like a pad paper on the facing page where you can right your personal reflection.

I won’t write the author’s thoughts here on each topic for obvious reasons; but, I hope I’ll be permitted to  end this preface with a two (2) quotes:

“The great man is he who,
in the midst of the crowd,
keeps with perfect sweetness
the independence of solitude.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The depths of the human heart
always long for silence and solitude.”
— Felix O. Magallanes
